Buy Sell Auction Bidding & Selling Explained

Proxy Bidding: Not available for Silent or Reverse

Proxy Bidding is where you enter the highest amount you are willing to bid on a item, on the Buy Sell UK Auction this is called your Max-bid. "MAX" the Buy-Sell Auction system auto-bidder will bid on your behalf by proxy until your maximum bid level is reached. Your Max-bid will remain secret at all times. This means that you don't have to worry about being outbid in the last seconds and that you don't have to keep coming back to the auction to bid higher, unless your Max-bid is outbid by the increment amount set by the seller.

All bids including proxy bids will be displayed in the bid history.

How does It work?

Here's an EXAMPLE:

Lets assume the seller JOHN lists an item with a starting bid of £100.00 and a bid increment of £10.00. Now DAVE and LOUISE will bid on the item. You can see the actual bidding results in the bid history of any item

Silent Auctions: No Multi Item Silent Auctions, And No Max-bidding In Silent Auctions

Silent Auctions are great for the seller, because no bid information is displayed until AFTER the auction closes. Upon closing, the entire bid history will be displayed for 48 hours for all bidders to inspect. All bidders will also get an email notifying him of the winning bid with the date, time, and bid amount of winning bid. Buyers are likely to bid high, as they do not know what or who they have to outbid.

Reverse Auctions:

Allows you post what you want to buy and sellers bid down to sell to you at the lowest price.

Reverse proxy bidding works the same as normal max bidding, only in reverse.
